Texas Style Parade

I had to sport my trucker hat at last Fridays New Braunfels Parade, and
I fit in quite well with the rest of the crowd. I'm sure people thought
that I was a born and raised local. I even had tons of compliments on
such a thing. I did it as a joke, and wasn't trying to be stylish, for
once.

The parade was your standard small town parade. TOO, TOO
many people and not enough street space to cram everyone in. Salem
enjoyed it (besides the awful sunscreen that always seems to burn the
heck out of her little eyes no matter what brand it is), and it was
hotter than all hell out. She enjoyed the sirens, dancing to the
marching bands, and was more interested in people watching more than
anything. I should take her to the airport one day as a field trip so
she can entertain herself by being amused by all the people. I can hear it now: "So Noel, what did you do today?" Response: "Aaaahhh, you know, took the kid to the airport to check things out!"

I love the age she is at now and the fact that we can get out of the
house and do/see so many more things. There is nothing I love more than
seeing her enjoy herself no matter what she is doing. Watching her have
a good time, makes all my days complete. Now, if only we could have had
a day like that yesterday!

Below is my beautiful girlfriend that lives in my neighborhood, Janelle, and her son/Salem's boyfriend KNOX. He is 2 weeks younger than Salem and they spend lots of time together; which also means that they fight and play as if they were brother and sister. We were walking back to our vehicles after the parade, and Janelle ended up pushing her stroller, and almost busting her ass becausee of it, right through huge pieces of horse shit. I had to snap some photos of her attempting to clean up such a mess. Did I mention she only had thin sandels on...EEeeeWWwww!

Above was the best float EVER: WURSTFEST, which is an annual festival here in New Braunfels. Oh, and did I mention that it's centered around beer and sausage? Mmmm...nothing more classy than walking around with a huge slab of sausage on a stick, a beer stein in the other, and a toddler on your back...can't wait!

Joel has already printed out the activities for WURSTFEST! We went to Oktoberfest in Breckinridge 3 weeks ago and I saw lots of sausage, beer and toddlers in back packs!

Dude, what's not classy about that :0) hehehe.
Yeah, classic Texas parade. You should check out the the Fiesta Parade next spring. You'll have a helluva time blogging about that.

--By the way...I love that I don't have to type in those secret letters to publish my comment :0)
