I HAVE A JOB....SORT OF!

Over the weekend, I went out and got myself a job! I am super excited and will catch you all up on that later. It's a 4 year contract and we'll see what happens after that! This week I'm busy getting the paper work, drug tests (hope I pass!), and other things of that nature over and done with. Fun, fun, fun!

HANDSOME?

Yesterday, Salem wore a white pair of pants that rolled up, snapped, and had bows on the pant legs, a shirt that reads" I'm Kind Of A Big Deal" (that had puffy sleeves with pink and gold writing), girlie sandals, and a freakin' PINK BOW IN HER HAIR FOR THE LOVE OF GOD and some bizzzzzz-nasty had the nerve to call my DAUGHTER F'ING HANDSOME! I wanted to slap her. I just DO NOT understand how people get shit like that confused. "Ohhhhh, he is soooo hansome".....WTF?

On the other hand, I WOULD understand if she dressed in all yellow, white, green, etc., because she doesn't have much hair what-so-ever and I know I could make her look like a boy if I wanted to; but I definitely don't. I LOVE having a girl and always make the extra effort to make her look like a girl because she acts like a little boy.

I know it doesn't just happen to me because I have friends that bitch about it too. It's just one of those things that gets my blood pressure sky rocketing through the roof.

Handsome......dumb bitch!

Buske MADE THE CUT! (inside joke:)

I finally, finally, had the opportunity to meet John Buske while I was in Tucson. Over the years, I had heard a crap ton of stories from Andrew about the two of them, and now I can put a face to it all. On the other hand, I was unable to meet his beautiful wife, Lisa, due to the fact that she gave birth to a darling baby girl last Thursday evening. So, while hanging out at the squadron last friday evening with HARB, I was quite impressed to see Buske there pushing it up while sporting his hospital band. Like I said before, from all the stories I've heard, I would expect NOTHING less of you! No worries, he only had a few because he had to pick up the wife and daughter from the hospital the next AM. It was great meeting you and Andrew and I are looking forward to spending some time with your family in November.....you don't have a choice. We're going to crash your pad regardless! Give all of our best to Lisa!

10 Days in AZ

Andrea, Salem and I at my favorite Tucson lunch spot: Wildflower!

One of my BFF'S from high school in Phoenix: Auntie Cortne Wood..oops, did I just say Wood?

Salem with my friend Nancy from Tucson

Salem making her Yaya LOL!

Ben, Andrea, my friend Justina from Phx and I out on 4th AVE.

Yummy breakfast outing at Cafe Jasper in Tucson!

Metropolitan Grill.....another tasty place in Tucson!

Could she get any more precious? I don't think so!

For those of you who didn't know, or that I didn't run into back home, Salem and I spent the last 10 days in Tucson/Phoenix. We enjoyed ourselves and had a great time with all of our family and friends; however, I must admit that it is ALWAYS great to come home. Other than running here, running there, and of course, SHOPPING, we really didn't do much else. Visiting with everyone when you go home is so time consuming and especially with an infant. It seems like I always leave feeling guilty that I didn't see this person, or that person, or spend enough time here or there. Am I the only one that feels this way? I would have enjoyed more days relaxing by the pool, but there wasn't even enough time for that. Not that it REALLY matters. Salem is so pasty white, that she burns just getting in and out of her carseat. It wasn't worth the hustle and bustle of getting her all lathered up, toys, water, towels, etc., over to the pool just to leave 5 minutes later. Seriously, can someone come up with a 100 SPF sunblock for my poor child? A sunburned baby in a hot two piece bikini isn't very flattering.

My exotic, and most beautiful BFF in Tucson, Katrina!

Teressa (HARB'S wife), me, Salem, and Heather Reynolds.

Thanks again to everyone for taking the time to spend with us while we were out there. Or, screw you if you didn't put forth any effort to see us...you know who you are! The entire FAM., to include Andrew, will be out in November.

A big thanks to Lori and HAWK Ferguson for letting Salem and I crash at your place in Phoenix for a few days AND...............................................

A HUGE CONGRATS TO MY BFFFFFFFFFF ABBEY WHO RECENTLY GOT ENGAGED AND IS GETTING MARRIED NEXT FALL. I LOVE YOU AND CAN'T WAIT TO SHARE YOUR SPECIAL DAY WITH YOU. I HAD SUCH A GREAT TIME SHOPPING AND SPENDING TIME WITH YOU AND YOUR MOM!!!!!!!!!

Andrea: Thank you for coordinating our night out on the 4th and getting Chum,Heidi, HARB, and Teressa together. Oh, and for putting up with my friend and the random guy she screwed at your house. I could never thank you enough!

Heidi: Your boobs are HUGE!

Cortne: Your boobs are HUGE TOO...but they've always been that way!

Katrina: You made quite the impression on the guys at the squadron. They are now in love forever more and hoping they'll randomly run into you in Tucson. You're hot!

HARB/Teressa: Thanks for having us over for dinner. It is ALWAYS great seeing you Paul! I'm looking forward to 2 stepping with you again in the near future!

Heather/Will/Nate: It was so good to see you again. Best of luck with the house hunting and we'll catch up soon.

Mommy/Yaya: We (Andrew, Salem and I) love you so much and thank you for all that you do for our family. It brings me to tears just thinking of you crying every time we leave you at the airport. Salem adores you and there are days when we wish we were closer.....not EVERY day, but most!!!!!!!! Ha, ha, see you in a few weeks!

Buske: Your post in coming!

Another Day in AK

I forgot where we even let off with the trip. To be honest,
I had to stop blogging about it because it made me miss Alaska even
more. I'm over it now, and feel as if I can get through another post
about it. Lets see, my girlfriend Emma and I ended up going back to
Denali because we felt we just couldn't soak up enough of it. Once
again, we stayed up ALL night, "heeling around" on ourHeely's all
throughout the town, and decided to go on a hike at 4 or 5 in the
morning before all the "tourists" hit the trails. It was quiet,
peaceful, and the ONLY thing we could hear was a moose taking a bath in
the nearby lake. What a sight it was! I am embarrassed by the way I
looked hiking the trails. We went out all night, then through
sweatshirts over our "going out clothes"; so I completely looked like
an idiot hiking in my big hoop earrings and designer shades. What an
ass. I might as well have kept my damn heels on and just said I was
from New York or something. You know, fit the stereotype.

After all our "manly adventures" in Denali, we decided we better head back to Fairbanks so I could meet back up with Andrew( him and all the guys spent a few days in Chitna dip-netting). We ended up hitting ANOTHER FAVORITE= Ester Gold Camp for the All You Can Eat Crab Buffet!!!!!
My mouth is salivating right not just thinking about how good it was.
It was SO good, that I literally stained myself with butter on my pants
from head to toe. I believe you can see the outcome of all that in some
of the pictures!

We had dinner with my girlfriend Courtney and Ryan Walinkski. Courtney was in our wedding and they just found out that they're having a little baby!!!!!
We
ended the evening at Pike's where we sat on the deck with Emma and her
husband, Luke, and shared a few drinks. Emma was also in our wedding,
and we reminisced about our special day because Pike's is where we had
our ceremony/reception....MEMORIES! We (Emma and I), both left there in
tears; it was sad :(

Amount of sleep total=SAME AS THE LAST DAY BECAUSE I DIDN'T GET ANY!!!!!!!

Yana and Build -A- Bear

Another weekend GONE, just like that. Where do they go? For us, what a good one it was. I spent all Friday afternoon with HARB and his father. They flew into New Braunfels, we went to lunch, showed them the house, etc. Then, Salem and I went over to my girlfriend Roza's (pronounced Rrrrroooza's) house so the girls could play. She is from Macedonia and has a daughter, YANA, that is 1 month older than Salem. By the looks of it, you would think that Salem was MONTHS older than Yana, but that is definitely NOT the case. Her daughter can still wear 3-6 mth
clothes. What in the hell? Salem had already grown out of that size by
the time she was 2 months old. I wonder what it's like having such a
tiny, little thing.Yana looks and acts just like a sweet doll.

Then,
on Saturday, Andrew and I took Salem to a Build-A-Bear Workshop so we
could have one made for her for her first birthday fast approaching.
Andrew took her around, let her touch every thing in there that you
could stuff, and let Salem pick out the one she wanted; it was very
cute! Then, we did a recording of our voices so she can hear her mommy
and daddy when she touches the hand! LOVE IT! Although, I will probably
be regretting that purchase after I hear my voice after only the 2nd
time of her doing it. Oh well, anything for her! We also picked out 2 (
Andrew and I each picked one) outfits that the bunny (she ended up
picking out a bunny and we named it Sassafras) wears and they look like clothes Salem would wear.

I also took Andrew to have his first experience at Papadeux this weekend and it was yummy! He was craving craw fish
(every since Valerie was DOWN here talking about it) and I was in the
mood for oysters. We both got our fixings in and enjoyed our weekend
together! Hope you all had a great weekend with your loved ones!

I put the revealing "boobie shot" picture of me in just for Lysandra. I think they've grown recently or something because they are popping out of everything I've been wearing. YEA....... BOOBS! Although, the bigger they are, the fatter they make me look....damn boobs!

Sassafras getting stuffed!

Quinn's 4th of July

What a fun 4th of July we had! Joe, Val, HARB, a crap ton of his friends, HARB's father, and some of Andrew's squadron buddies all hung out for the holiday! We really didn't do much, due to the consistent
thunderstorms we've been having for what seems like FOREVER. Will they
ever stop? Lately, they come, go, come, go, come, go, come, go....do
you get it? I would rather have it rain cats and dogs for DAYS on end,
than come and go like they have been.Seriously , the sun will be
shinning bright as day, so I'll attempt to catch some rays, only to get
rained out 5 minutes later. Why do I even bother?

Back to the 4th.
Val and I woke up at the ass crack of dawn to get a work out
in...shocker! We stayed up and drank at the house the evening of the
3rd, while the guys went out and partied it up on the town. We came
home after sweating the liquor (and everything else out of us), to
Andrew cooking everyone pancakes. Val jumped in on the help and made a Deeeelish dish that I can't even pronounce, let alone spell for that matter. We met back up with everyone in the town of Gruene
that evening and spent a few hours at the local winery. GUYS, GUYS,
GUYS, I HAVE FOUND MY MOST FAVORITE THING IN THE WORLD TO TREAT MYSELF
TO......COFFEE FLAVORED WHITE WINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited! So
excited, that I don't even want to open the bottle I have because I
don't want to share it! If you've never tried such a thing, I highly,
highly recommend such a thing. That is, if you enjoy coffee like I do.

We came home to witness a group of 20 or so teenagers setting of fireworks
for us on our street. Lets just say that Salem enjoyed
looking at their lights, and leave it at that. What more should I have
expected from a young group of kids that were just screwing around with
them like they were toys?

Joe and Val--Thank you for coming
DOWN(get it VAL--he, he...Val and I ALWAYS say that everything is DOWN,
even if it is really up!) Example: "You should come DOWN to Alaska!"---
Doesn't make any geographical since what-so-ever; but sounds good to
us! ANYWAYS, Andrew, Salem, Lilly, and I, ALL enjoyed your company and
loved having you here. Please come DOWN and stay with us again. It was
nice having such great house guests...miss ya!

AK Tour Break

Goodness, I thought I would take a break from blogging about AK. You
either are missing it, hating it, or really, just don't give a shit
about all that we did there. So, instead, I'll bore you with what we
did over the weekend in Tejas!

On Saturday, we went with some neighborhood friends of ours to McQueeney
Lake; which is about a 10 minute drive from our home. They are "Private
Club Members", so we were able to go relax by the lakefront pool, enjoy
some cocktails, and play with our sweet babies. Their son, Peyton, is a
month younger than Salem, and they aresoooooo cute together. We call Kris and Dawn (Peytons's mommy and daddy), "New Braunfelites"; due to the fact that they were born/raised here and are always being invited to EVERYTHING and going here and there with EVERY ONE! We love it and are envious of the fact that we can't "keep up" with them. They own a boat, yacht, beach house, lake house, motor home, Mercedes, toys
GALORE, oh, and the home they live in in our neighborhood. Not to
mention the fact that they are both only 26 years of age....and no,
they're not drug dealers; his job is LEGIT!

Sunday, we decided to do some things around the house and then we drove to Boerne (pronounced BUR-NEE), to have some lunch and walk around the town. It is such a darling place and was pissed that ALL the local stores were opened besides the children's boutiques. What in the hell? Don't they know that all moms' shop for their babies at ALL times of the day/week?
All 5 were closed down for the day... I'm still raging over it.

Now, we're busy preparing for some friends we have coming in for the big 4th of July week! HARB and approx. 8 of his friends rented a waterfront cabin for the week here in New Braunfels, and HOPEFULLY, HOPEFULLY, Joe and Val will be flying in as well to
spend a night or two with us! You better be coming BIZ-NASTY!

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend and have a safe holiday!
