Sea World

Lets just say that I'm so glad we took the plunge and purchased season passes to Sea World. Totally worth it, and totally a great time! We took Salem to various exhibits and she sat through them all! I was shocked. This comes from a child who I can't even get to look twice at a toddler based dvd, einstein, nothing. Shamu on the other hand, stopped her right in her tracks. She loved it and we can't wait to take her back for more!

Here we go again!

San Antonio Zoo

We found it funny that the elephant had his huge ass facing us the entire time!

Andrew's parents are in town visiting this week/weekend. We thought we would take advantage of the WONDERFUL weather and enjoy the outdoors while they're here. Today we took them to the San Antonio Zoo and actually had a great time! The main reason why I planned such a thing was for Salem, but I found myself running here and there to see the different animals. Oh, and Salem DID love the zoo, loved being on daddy's back, and loved making noises at the animals and telling all of them HIIIII!!!!!..... in her cute, high pitched voice... love it! There were a few GEMS at the zoo that REALLY stood out to us. Can you guess which animals they were that Andrew especially got excited over? I wonder what it could be........

Daddy even bought one for Salem to bring home with her and now she thinks it's funny to head-butt the Warthog!

My 2 loves!

Sassy was pissed at me for taking her picture a gazillion x's
The wildest beasts of all...humans!

Check back tomorrow for our Sea World festivites that will be taking place in the AM!

I'm In!

I officially signed up for the San Antonio Marathon/Half Marathon yesterday. In Alaska, I would run a 5K every single day, no more, no less. Here, I have doubled that to a 10K (almost every day), but once again, I have NEVER in my life run more than 8 miles at one time. I ran 11 yesterday just to get a feel how well I could do, and I decided, at that moment, to go ahead and give it a whirl!

I've always wanted to run a half marathon, but never had the "right opportunity." I honestly don't think I have it in me to do a full. Physically, I think I could do it; mentally, no flippin' way. I do get VERY bored running after the 7 mile mark; so I think I would be going insane, literally, by mile 26.2. I just found out about this one coming up a few weeks back and will get to fullfill my dreams on Nov. 11th!!!

Care to join me?

A MOOSE there, A DEER here

Oops, he did it again! A deer ran out in front of Andrew on the way to work Friday morning. What is it with 4 legged animals? He hit a moose on his drive up to Alaska (10 minutes outside of base to be exact and it did his brand new car in)and now, this damn deer. I'm sure USAA is like WTF is up with this Quinn family? So, after the moose demolished his 4Runner is AK, he set out for revenge with HARB by stocking one in our freezer. Maybe in a few months you'll see photos like this below, but with Bambi. Thank goodness he walked away without even a scratch. The deer, on the other hand, wasn't so lucky. Andrew was going 60 mph...no chance for the little guy to survive that. Damn deer.

Canyon Lake

"Weeeeee...the slide is fun!"

Today, my local girlfriends and I, took the kiddos to Canyon Lake for
some playground, water and picnic action. oh my GOD, it was sooooooo beautiful out, literally perfect...80 degrees
to be exact. When I did my race last weekend, it was out at the
Randolph Military portion of the Lake. There is so much to do out there
and really a great place to take advantage of. Did I mention that it is
only a 15 minute car ride? Even better!

Salem thought it was THE GREATEST thing in the world being out there. I love that she is such a free spirited and (most of the time), happy baby. She laughs, and
laughs, and laughs, and finds joy in all that she does. I took her down
the large slides with me and it made my heart melt just listening to
her belly laugh over and over again.

She walked straight out into the water and parked her happy little ass right in it. Once again, she thought it was THE GREATEST thing just splashing around and playing
with Knox. I love that she enjoys being in the water so much. However,
she might be a little TO confident and often times scares the living
crap out of me because she'll dunk her head fully under and come up
laughing as if it was HILARIOUS that she can do such thing. I only
ALMOST had a heart attack once today, not to shabby!

The Scale Doesn't Lie!

I often find Salem in our closet doing this:

She didn't eat very much yesterday; I wonder if she is worried about her weight? Great, only 14 months old and she stressing about fitting into her skinny jeans. She will often carry the scale to me so that I can weigh myself. Geeee....thank you Baby Salem! Why wouldn't I want to step onto the scale after devouring almost an entire box of cereal? Let me jump right on!
